San Francisco, June 15, 2010 -- Summer Justice Shields announced today his plans to run an official write-in campaign for U.S. Congress in the 8th Congressional District of California, for the seat presently held by Nancy Pelosi. Despite the difficulties inherent in a write-in campaign, Shields conveyed his confidence that the mass strike process sweeping the country will provide him with a victory in November, as the American people are in a "fighting mood," and are "looking for serious leadership...not for a continuation of serial ms.-leadership," which they are getting from Pelosi. His full remarks appear below.

"I am announcing today my candidacy for the Congressional seat currently held by Nancy Pelosi, as a write-in candidate in the general election. I would have preferred the opportunity to defeat Speaker Pelosi in last week's Democratic primary. However, due to a technical problem with my voter registration, I was disqualified from appearing on the Democratic Party primary ballot. I filed a legal motion to appeal the disqualification, but no court in the state had the courage to stand up to Pelosi, and my appeal was not heard.

"I am fully aware of the difficulties in winning a write-in campaign. It is nevertheless becoming increasingly clear to a growing number of voters in the 8th CD, that Speaker Pelosi is not serving their interests, but rather continues to act as an agent of a hostile, foreign power, namely the British Empire, and therefore must be removed from office.

"In my campaign, I will expose precisely what it means that Pelosi is serving as an agent of the British Empire, through her enforcement, in the Congress, of the anti-American policies being imposed by President Obama, ranging from her role in ramming through his so-called health care reform, a bill modeled on the murderous euthanasia policies of Adolph Hitler; to her protection of the swindlers and thieves of Wall Street and the City of London, through her role in suppressing legislation to reintroduce Glass-Steagall banking regulatory principles, and a ban on derivative transactions; to her efforts to impose an anti-growth, pro-speculative 'cap-and-trade' bill, which would dismantle what remains of our nation's physical economy.

"As a candidate associated with economist and statesman Lyndon LaRouche, I am uniquely qualified to, not only expose her role in destroying our nation through these and similar anti-growth policies, but to rally support for real alternatives. These alternatives begin with legislation to end the bail-outs of financial institutions -- such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, and the wildly speculative hedge funds, like those associated with George Soros -- which should have been placed into bankruptcy reorganization a long time ago, by returning to the Glass-Steagall bill, which served our nation well for more than six decades.

"Ending the bail-outs, through applying Glass-Steagall standards of financial regulation, is the first point of the 'LaRouche Plan,' which I fully support, and which is gaining support throughout the country. This includes moving to global Glass-Steagall standards, through a Four Power agreement negotiated between the U.S., Russia, India, and China, which would return the world to a fixed exchange rate system, similar to the system established at the end of World War II by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, at the Bretton Woods Conference.

"I will soon be announcing a major conference, to be held in San Francisco, on the Four Powers Agreement, to provide the voters of the 8th CD an opportunity to participate in an in-depth discussion on the American System of physical economy, which provided the guiding principles for FDR's U.S. and global recovery program. Franklin Roosevelt understood that, in order to have real global economic growth, the U.S. had to reassert its authority, in direct and total opposition to the financial interests of the Anglo-Dutch Empire. Our failure to follow through on FDR's design to dismantle that Empire at the end of the war, is the reason that we are being victimized, again today, by this Empire -- an Empire whose interests are dutifully served by its puppets, President Barack Obama, Barney Frank, and, of course, Nancy Pelosi.

"In my campaigning throughout the district, I have tapped into a response similar to what my LaRouche Youth Movement (LYM) colleague Kesha Rogers, rode to victory, in the Democratic Party primary in Texas 22nd CD, and what is scaring incumbent blow-hard, Bailout Barney Frank in Massachusetts, where his career will soon be ended by Rachel Brown, the LYM candidate opposing him in the September Democratic primary there. The American people are in a fighting mood, moving to throw out incumbents, and candidates, in both parties, who support 'globalization,' from free trade agreements and deregulation, to the bailouts to prop up the already-punctured speculative bubble.

"They are looking for serious leadership, of the type Mr. LaRouche and I represent, in the FDR tradition of reassertion of the American System, not for the serial ms.leadership they associate with Pelosi, and her gang of imperial lackeys, like Barney Frank."
